Duration: 7h

Language available : French; German ; English ; Spanish ; Italian

Description:

Meet your guide at 9:15 am at Circular Quay for a day of cruising and discovery on the waters of Sydney Harbour.

After a short introduction, you will board the iconic Manly Ferry and travel towards the entrance of the harbour, sailing past the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and the spectacular Sydney Heads, where the harbour meets the Ocean.

Along the way you will glimpse some of Australia’s most beautiful seaside mansions and natural shore line some of which still appears as it was 200 years ago.

Your ferry will then moor at historic Manly Wharf.

Manly, thus named because of the manly ritual combats staged there by the Gayamaygal Aborigines, is one of only two suburbs in Sydney that has both harbour and ocean beaches. A short walk will allow you to discover the many facets of this surfing hotspot going back to the 1920s. Have a coffee on us while sitting at the water’s edge in a sheltered cove looking at the immensity of the Tasman Sea.

Then ascend at a leisurely pace the bushy leeside of the bluff that forms the northern head of the harbour’s entrance.

You will walk through some of the most pristine bushland of the Sydney urban area (harbouring several endangered species including bandicoots) as well as past some historic defence infrastructure from WWII.

Once at the top, the breathtaking panorama will make your jaw drop: the ocean to the east, the Heads and harbour at your feet and Sydney’s skyline on the horizon, all of which you will take in while savouring a meal of refined Italian cuisine.

The sailing will then resume back to Circular Quay for a short but steep climb of the Sydney Harbour Bridge south-east Pylon from which you will discover a birds-eye view of Sydney Harbour.

To finish the day your guide will take you through the narrow Cornish-style cobbled lanes of Sydney’s birthplace, the vibrant and picturesque Rocks precinct, before bidding you goodbye not without first pointing you towards some of Australia’s oldest pubs.

Here you may choose to stop and reminisce over a beer about this dazzling day of gentle adventure.
